BRIEF DESCRIPTION
The course aims to discuss clinical and management aspects of gyno cosmetic treatments. Reconstructive gynecological procedures may seem ‘optional’. On the contrary, for some women, the correction of certain conditions can be life changing in their positive effect. Aesthetic gynecology has seen increasing patient and physician demand. Currently, few if any obstetrics and gynecology residency or fellowship programs teach this subject matter though inroads have taken place in plastic surgery and cosmetic surgery training programs that had the foresight to include specific training in this field. The course is divided into 4 sessions. In the first session, Aesthetic gynecology will be introduced. The second section will present the functional and surgical anatomy, pelvic floor and genital ageing with particular focus on Counselling and Patient selection. In the third one indeed, the surgical techniques will be analyzed and discussed comparatively. Although it is not possible to define the ideal aesthetic genitalia, patient-specific techniques chosen, based on the patient’s anatomy, and applied with a realistic approach, can increase patient satisfaction and reduce complication rates. Finally, the fourth session will provide an occasion for an interactive discussion, which aims to involve the participants for a scientific comparison.
