KENYAN DELEGATION VISIT TO THE NEW GALEAZZI AND SAN RAFFAELE HOSPITALS IN MILAN

Milan, October 6 2021

A high level delegation represented by H.E Mutahi Kagwe Minister of Health of the Kenyan Republic and Dr. Paolo Rotelli the Vice President of San Donato Hospital Group visited the construction site of the New Galeazzi Hospital at the EXPO 2015 Milan area today MIND, Milano Innovation District, this hospital together with the Human Technopole and the State University, will be one of the cornerstones of the future ecosystem of research, innovation and care, a unique project in Italy and among the most advanced in Europe.

The new structure, a building of about 180,000 square meters of modern architectural conception, designed according to the most innovative standards of sustainability and functionality, will combine in a single location the skills and specializations related to the two existing Institutes that are part of the San Donato Group, the Galeazzi Orthopedic Institute and the Sant’Ambrogio Clinical Research Institutes.

SHARJAH HEALTH AUTHORITY DELEGATION VISITED SAN DONATO HOSPITAL & SAN RAFFAELE HOSPITAL IN ITALY ON 14TH MARCH 2019

Gruppo San Donato had the pleasure to welcome the delegates from the Sharjah Health Authority for an official visit of the San Donato Hospital and San Raffaele Hospital. It was a great opportunity to discuss further the future project of the Group with Sharjah Health Authority after the signature of the Memorandum of Understanding earlier this January.

The delegates included H.E Abdulla Ali Al Mahyan – Chairman of Sharjah Health Authority, H.E Dr. Abdelaziz Al Mheiri – Director of Sharjah Health Authority and Mr. Binu G Pisharadi – Commercial Affairs Manager.

Delegates from Gruppo San Donato included: Mr. Paolo Rotelli, President, Gruppo San Donato, Mr. Kamel Ghribi, Chairman, GSD Healthcare and Mr. Pierre Appert, CEO, GSD Healthcare.

 

PROF. BOSI FROM VITA-SALUTE SAN RAFFAELE UNIVERSITY MILAN VISITING OBAIDALLAH HOSPITAL FOR SEMINAR ON DIABETES IN UAE ON 25TH – 28TH FEBRUARY 2019

Dr. Emanuel Bosi, Professor of Internal Medicine, Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, Milan & Head, General Medicine, Diabetes & Endocrinology Unit, San Raffaele Hospital Scientific Institute, Milan will be visiting Obaidallah Hospital, Ministry of Health in UAE on 25th – 28th February 2019. Dr. Emanuele Bosi received his M.D. degree, at University of Milan 1979 and got a Diploma in Diabetes and Metabolic Diseases 1983, University of Milan. He is a certified Medical Practitioner since 1985 at the General Medical Council, UK.  From 2002 to date he is the Head, General Medicine, Diabetes and Endocrinology Unit, San Raffaele University Hospital and Research Institute, Milan. And he worked as the Director of Diabetes Research Institute (DRI), at the same institute over the last four years. His areas of expertise are Diabetes & Endocrinology and he holds an extraordinary curriculum of research projects and publications.

The Diabetes Research Institute (DRI) is composed of 8 units of basic research and 5 groups of clinical research. The DRI is an international center of excellence of prevention and treatment of diabetes. It is part of the International DRI federation (DRI-NET), which includes 12 other DRI’s around the world.

The most recent and innovative program include the development of modern technologies (eg. Insulin pumps and artificial pancreas), the study and prevention of diabetes complications and programs of cardio-diabetes and cardio-metabolism in type 2 diabetes.

A breakthrough research is focused on the prevention and cure of Diabetes Type 1 (T1D). To achieve this objective, two specific programs are pursued, both of which take advantage of patients and animal models:

  1. Prediction and prevention of T1D: aims at defining pathogenetic mechanisms of induction and perpetuation of autoimmunity and developing strategies for halting/reverting the progression to T1D.
  1. Beta cell replacement and cell therapy in T1D: aims at developing novel immune tolerance-inducing, immunosuppression-lightening and islet-regeneration therapies to prolong the survival of native and/or transplanted beta cells.

31 August – 1 September 2018 – THE FIRST INTERNATIONAL MINIMALLY INVASIVE VALVE SURGERY TRAINING COURSE IN BEIJING

The first international Minimally Invasive Valve Surgery Training Course was organized by Gruppo San Donato, Chinese Minimally Invasive Cardiothoracic Surgery Association and Doctors Artist APP; sponsored by Cardio Medical, Panther Healthcare and Balance Medical.

The two days’ intensive training was composed of theoretical course in the morning, live case broadcast, dry lab hands-on course with swine hearts and echo lab in the afternoon.

Dr. Glauber and Dr. Chunsheng Wang gave an opening speech. Dr. Glauber expressed his pleasure to be able to help new generations of Chinese doctors to learn Minimally Invasive Cardiothoracic Surgery and emphasized the importance to form a team dedicated to minimally invasive surgery. Later on, a video of San Donato Group is presented as well to give a brief introduction of GSD.

To end the training course, Dr. Glauber together with Dr. Chunsheng Wang both signed and issued the certificates of attendance for the participants and certificates for the lecturers.

Gruppo San Donato at IFSO 2018

Dubai, September 27 2018 – Gruppo San Donato will be present at the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO 2018), a federation composed of 63 official national associations of bariatric surgeons and individual members, with Ethicon booth along with Dr. Alessandro Giovanelli and Mr. N. Ghilardi with Ethicon booth “Managing high volume obesity care centers in a multidisciplinary setting” on 27th September at 10:00 am.

The IFSO 2018 event is by the National Institute for Obesity Surgery, a scientific organization that brings together the most prominent surgeons and healthcare professionals in this field, such as nurses, practitioners, dieticians, nutritionists, psychologists, internists and anaesthesiologists, involved in the treatment of patients with morbid obesity.

The main goal of IFSO is the optimization of the treatment of severely obese patients bringing together surgeons and allied health professionals. IFSO is committed to the creation of a global system for accreditation of bariatric centres and individual surgeons.

IFSO’s main activity is the organization of the yearly World Congress, which provides a forum to exchange knowledge on surgical treatment of severely obese patients to present new techniques, research and concepts, and to meet the experts in the field.
