Dr. Romagnoli completed his training in Orthopedics and Traumatology in 1986 and in 1992 he became Director of the Knee Replacement Unit of the Santa Corona Hospital in Pietra Ligure, Savona, Italy. From 1987 to 1992 he was Professor in the Prosthetic Surgery Course held at the Muller Institute in Berna. Since 2001, he is the Director of the Joint Replacement Department at the Istituto Ortopedico Galeazzi Research Hospital, Milan, Italy. From 2001 to 2003 he was Professor at the Post-Graduate School in Orthopedic and Traumatology of the University of Milan, Italy. From 2002 to 2003 he was President of the GIUM (Italian group of Unicompartmental Users). From 2002 to 2004 he was Professor for the EXCELLENCE IN JOINT ARTHROPLASTY – (Scientific Seminar for the Asia Pacific) in Australia. From 2004 to 2006 he was Member of the Board Commission for Orthopaedic Technologies of SIGASCOT (Società Italiana del Ginocchio, Artroscopia, Sport, Cartilagine e Tecnologie Ortopediche). In 2012 he was Chairman of the 1st Small Implant Congress held in Milan and in 2014 he was honorary Chairman of the 2nd edition of the Small Implant Congress held in Bruxelles. He is the President of the SICORMeD (Società Italiana di Chirurgia Robotica, Mininvasiva e Day Surgery).
In his working life he performed more than 20000 hip and knee replacement and he designed several partial or total knee prosthesis and hip prosthesis: Allegretto Unicompartimental Knee Replacement (Sulzer Medica than Zimmer), NexGen Gender Solution (Zimmer), Persona (Zimmer) new Persona Total Knee Replacement (Zimmer), Fitmore Hip Stem (Zimmer). He wrote over 100 publications in national and international journals or books.
