He is currently the Director of the Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation Unit of the San Raffaele University Institute in Milan. He is also Associate Professor in Cardiology at the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University.
He was previously the Director of the Coronary Care Unit at San Raffaele Hospital – Milano and lecturer in Cardiology at theVita – San Raffaele University in Milan.
He has always been involved in the diagnosis and therapy of coronary heart disease (angina, infarction), acquiring expertise in various invasive and non-invasive instrumental techniques.
In his research activity he studied the mechanisms of coronary artery and angina. He has coordinated numerous national and international research projects.
He is a member of the European Society of Cardiology since 1994 and of numerous international scientific committees. He is vice president of the International Heart Health Society, which deals with cardiovascular prevention and health promotion.
