European Corporate Council on Africa and the middle-East: Ecam Forum Bilateral meeting Rome: 22-23 October 2020

The first edition of the ECAM Council bilateral meeting, organised by San Donato Hospital Group and GK Investment and in collaboration with The European House Ambrosetti, was held in Rome to discuss the current and future challenges facing healthcare, which have inevitably been intensified by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The objective of this bilateral meeting is to provide a neutral platform for selected members to explore the existing opportunities for investment in the field of healthcare and related sectors in Africa and the Middle East.

The ECAM Council is a platform aiming to address how regional healthcare hubs could create public health resilience. By discussing knowledge gaps among investors and government officials, greater interest can be seen in this important high-growth sector.

15 government leaders from 15 countries were present, among them the Italian Prime Minister H.E Giuseppe Conte, his counterparts the Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E Luigi Di Maio, the Minister of Health H.E Roberto Speranza, the Minister of Internal Affairs H.E Luciana Lamorgese and the deputy Minister of Health Mr. Pierpaolo Sileri, the Kenyan Minister of Health H.E Mutahi Kagwe, Minister of Health of Egypt H.E Hala Zayed, Minister of Health of Iraq H.E Hassan Mohamed Abbas Al Tameemi, H.E Faouzi Mehdi the Tunisian Minister of Health and Mr. Ranieri Guerra the assistant Director General of WHO.

ECAM Council’ s mission is to come up with realistic, effective, and lasting solutions for a more sustainable healthcare across the region of Africa and the Middle East.

The event was covered and acclaimed by international media in different parts of the globe.
